His full name was Robin McLaurin Williams. He was born on July 21, 1951 in Chicago(The U.S.). He was a great comedian actor, son of model Laura Williams and Robert Williams, executive of Ford Company.
Williams studied first political science, but he reflected about that and left it to study acting. He studied interpretation at the Marin College. Later he received a scholarship to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. The British series “Monty Pyton’s Flying Circus” was the inspiration for Williams to be interested in the comedy film.
Robin Williams had a big friendship for a long time with Christopher Reeve also known as Superman. Christopher Reeve was his roommate when both studied acting in Juilliard. Williams visited Christopher Reeve after the accident that left him quadriplegic. Williams pretended to be a to be a russian doctor and told him that he was going to make him a colonoscopy. Christopher Reeve laughed a lot and realized that everything would be fine.
Williams was married three times. His last wife was Susan Schneider. Williams had two sons and one daughter in previous marriages. Their names are Zack, Zelda and Cody. Williams loved videogames; in fact his daughter’s name is Zelda in honor of the video game “The Legend of Zelda”.
Williams worked in dubbing. He make the voice of the genius and the salesman in the animated film “Aladinn”. A lot of the movie’s dialogue was improvised by Williams. Disney’s animators were very happy to be working with him.
Robin Williams won a lot of awards, including one Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Good Will Hunting. He also won five Golden Globes for his roles in Mork and Mindy, Good Morning, Vietnam, The Fisher King, Aladdin and Mrs. Doubtfire. He also won two Primetime Emmy Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and five Grammy Awards.
Sadly, he was diagnosed with a condition: manic depression. On August 11, 2014, he decided to close his eyes and say goodbye. Doctors later identified him as a severe case of Lewy body dementia.
Robin Williams, was a genius of the comedy film, was a multifaceted actor that left us magnificent interpretations with his characters in both the comedy and drama, that until today we continue to remember him with much affection.
Even the most beautiful star turns off its light at some point… But he doesn´t do that because he lives in the hearts of the ones who remember his legacy.
